Bauhaus was started about 18 months ago by fashion house - Rook . The label kicked off in February 2005 with the launch of men’s wear, and women’s soon followed in the summer of 2005.

Bauhaus is fast fashion with an attitude that lends an air of hipness and cool to the customer. The designs are wearable and attainable, appealing to 16- 25 yrs. The Bauhaus customer is looking for immediate gratification, something to wear that night or that weekend.

Bauhaus works for its customer’s lifestyle – whether heading to the beach or going out clubbing, Bauhaus has something for day and night. It is consumer responsive, fast to market and trend relevant.

Bauhaus stocks to an impressive 150 accounts in Australia and New Zealand including leading street wear retailers such as City Beach (QLD), Live(WA), and major department store – Myer. Having opened their first couple of concept stores in Oxford St – Sydney (NSW), and Chapel St – Melbourne (VIC), earlier this year – Bauhaus’ future is looking good!

Bauhaus have a fantastic young design team including Craig Webb (men’s wear) and Binny Watson (women’s wear).

The summer collection for the ladies includes strong themes and influences from The Motorcycle Diaries, Big Trouble in Little China, The Wonder Year’s, and Heartbreak High.  Such influences have created a range full of stripes, spots, cutesy putesy hearts, gingham checks, floral’s and pastels. The “don’t jump” jumpsuit in charcoal grey, micro short’s and mini’s in peaches and cobalt blue’s, divine Asian inspired print’s embellish must-have tank’s and tee’s, and super-cute, over-dyed, mini-dresses are a vital part of any young lasses look this summer!

Bauhaus men will find ideal perfection this season when trademark tee’s and over dyed vintage garments feature “East meet’s West” graphic themes in a powerful and punchy colour palette. Light weight summer shirts compliment a succinct range of washed out polo’s. Highly detailed Henley styles can be teamed back with a casual pant or sharp short in denim and stone washed canvas. Sludgy khaki’s and military inspired camouflage round off this season for the men.

With celebrities such as Stephanie Macintosh (of Neighbours' fame) and Andy Lee
(of Hamish and Andy and The Real Stories) regularly seen sporting Bauhaus gear, the label is quickly becoming the brand of choice for the fashion savvy. Bauhaus is set to become one of the major players in the sometimes fickle world of street wear clothing and has to date built a strong and loyal customer base.

Bauhaus is available in Australia and New Zealand at Myer and selected Boutiques.
